How to Measure for No-Drill Blinds
Getting the right size is easy. Follow these three steps to ensure a perfect fit.
Available Sizes
Measure Width
Measure the inside width of your window frame at three points: top, middle, and bottom. Use the smallest measurement.
Measure Height
Measure the inside height from the top of the frame to the sill at three points: left, center, and right. Use the smallest measurement.
Check Depth
Measure the depth of your window frame recess. Our tension-fit system needs a minimum of 2mm (0.08") depth to grip securely.
- Use a metal tape measure for accuracy — cloth tapes can stretch.
- Measure in inches. Round down to the nearest 1/8 inch.
- Our tension rod extends 2" beyond the listed size for a secure fit.
- If between sizes, choose the next size down for a snug fit.

Our blinds use an expandable tension rod system. Simply place the rod inside your window frame, squeeze it to compress, then twist the knob to expand and lock it in place. The entire process takes about 10 seconds — no drills, no screws, no brackets, no tools of any kind.
Our blinds come in 8 standard sizes ranging from 24" × 36" to 46" × 64", covering the vast majority of standard windows. The tension rod extends 2" beyond the listed width for a secure fit. If you're between sizes, choose the next size down.
The tension-fit system works on vinyl, wood, aluminum, and composite window frames. It also works on sliding glass door frames. It requires a minimum frame depth of 2mm (0.08"). It is NOT compatible with arched windows, skylights, or completely frameless windows.
No. The tension rod ends have soft rubber pads that grip without scratching or leaving marks. When you remove the blind, your frame will look exactly as it did before — making it perfect for renters. We've tested on over 500 window frames with zero damage.
Our tension rod is rated to hold up to 5 lbs, which is well above the weight of any of our blinds (0.8 – 1.6 lbs depending on size). The rod uses a steel core with a threaded expansion mechanism for maximum stability.
Yes! Our spunlace non-woven fabric is moisture-resistant and easy to clean. Simply wipe with a damp cloth. However, we recommend the Light Filtering version for bathrooms and kitchens as it dries faster than the Blackout version.
